If anyone needs me, I'll be in San Francisco
I quit my job. I lost a surprising amount of sleep over it. My bosses were remarkably cool about it, and even let me leave a week early. I came home and slept for four days.
Like most of my decisions of the past year, this was not financially motivated. Since I'm stuck on the student lifestyle, I save money easily. Maybe a little too easily. Many of my friends, and especially my work friends, are baffled.
friend: How is this not financially motivated?
me: If you've ever seen the inside of my house, you would know that I could easily live on minimum wage. Or welfare. Actually if you just saw my house with no context, you would assume welfare.
friend: I mean, I can see that you don't spend a lot of money on clothes...
me: This shirt, these socks, and even the underwear I'm wearing right now, all came from The Salvation Army.
friend: What is wrong with you!
My new job starts on November 10th, and I was planning on just sleeping clear through next week. But last night I got a text from a friend, asking me to join him on a road trip down to San Francisco. I couldn't say no to that. We'll be sleeping in the car, to save money.
